EU demand on Brazil beef rising 05 Feb 2009
Over the last few weeks, the price premium for Brazilian traced cattle eligible to be exported to the EU has steadily been on the rise.

This has reached a premium of approximately 10% over non-traced cattle.
The price premium for EU accredited cattle is because of the steady increase in orders from European importers, as beef stocks deplete and the credit situation eases.
Brazil beef to EU – growing
Along with the increase in demand, Brazilian beef supplies for the EU are expected to grow throughout the year, as the number of farms approved for this market rise.

It has been reported that at 30 January, a total of 816 farms were approved for the EU market, in comparison to only 106 one year earlier.
