Undeclared allergen causes sausage recall 03 Nov 2008

Jolly Good Meat Products in Los Angeles is recalling around 600 pounds of ready-to-eat and raw banger sausage rolls.
The products may contain an undeclared allergen – eggs – according to the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service.
 
Egg is a known allergen, which is not declared on the label.

These products are subject to recall:
  • 8.9-pound cases of ready-to-eat "Jolly Good Banger Rolls"
  • 24-pound cases of raw "Jolly Good Banger Rolls"
     
Shipped to distributors - California
Every box bears Est. # "6216" inside the USDA mark of inspection. The Banger Rolls products were produced in September and October, and were shipped to distributors in California for further distribution.

The problem was found by a routine FSIS inspection.
 
Thus far, there have been no reports of illness due to consumption of these products.
