Brazil is largest beef supplier to Russia 20 Jan 2010
Last year, Brazil became the largest supplier of cattle meat to Russia with the share of 52% in the total Russian beef imports.
During the 11 months of 2009 the total volume of beef imports from Brazil to Russia amounted to 293,000 tonnes, according to the official report release by the Russian National Meat Association.
Imports of Brazil pork accounts for about 38% of Russia’s total pork imports (206,000 tonnes).
However, imports of Brazil poultry to Russia last year declined and amounted to 60,000 tonnes. Currently Brazil holds 7.5% share of total imports of poultry meat to Russia.
