US: Smithfield Foods and Food Network celebrity cook Paula Deen have said they have teamed up to develop a new line of premium quality breakfast sausage.
The new sausage will be available in grocery stores this coming autumn.
Retail
The fresh sausage — Links, Patties and Mild & Hot Rolls — will be merchandised in the refrigerated case and will retail for between $3.50 and $4.00 per unit.
"We're proud to bring another Smithfield product by Paula Deen into the marketplace. We had tremendous sales success with our Paula Deen Spiral Sliced Ham with Crunchy Honey Glaze, and we expect our new breakfast sausage to be well-received by consumers," said Eric Esch, senior director of marketing at Smithfield Foods.
