Australia: Hope for jobless abattoir workers to find work 06 Oct 2009
A hundred abattoir staff retrenched from their positions has the support of the Campaspe Shire, Victoria to find other work.
The abattoir which decided to let go of the workers - HW Greenham and Sons abattoir – made the decision due to low cattle numbers.
A meeting was held which include employees, employment and training agencies and employers in assisting the workers find other jobs, possibly in the area.
