Ireland: Abattoir workers set to lose jobs 10 Dec 2009

In Midleton, Cork, Dawn Meats have stated that they will stop abattoir operations at their plant.
80 workers will be affected, as there have been discussions surrounding a redundancy package for the employees, according to the Irish Independent.

The same facility let go of 130 staff from the boning hall, earlier this year.

Trade union and management are yet to carry on with talks regarding the closure of the entire abattoir.
