US: Agriprocessors slaughterhouse workers released 27 Nov 2009

The 24 illegal immigrants detained as material witnesses in the case against a previous kosher slaughterhouse manager - Agriprocessors based in Iowa - have been set to be released.
A judge has agreed to the release of these former employees, according to reports. After being arrested, initially, the ex employees were to serve a sentence and then deported, however the deportation was placed on hold in order for them to testify in the trial of former plant manager Sholom Rubashkin.

Fraud conviction
Rubashkin was convicted of 86 counts of financial fraud. The former workers of Agriprocessors have been given permission to work, however it’s not clear as to whether they will be deported.
