Wales: Cig Cibyn abattoir sold 20 Feb 2009

Cig Cibyn abattoir in Caernarfon has been bought by Sher Foods, according to joint administrators CLB Coopers and Gwynedd council.
Cig Cibyn abattoir went into administration last year.

Sher Foods is planning to upgrade buildings on the Cibyn site, improve productivity and raise standards. According to reports, the work will occur over the next weeks with full production and trading returning to the site as quickly as possible.

Sale secured
"We are very pleased to have secured this sale and wish to thank the purchaser and Gwynedd council for the professional way in which it has been handled. We are continuing with our job of realising assets particularly book debts and are hopeful that we will be paying a dividend to the unsecured creditors before the end of the year," Mark Getliffe of CLB Coopers stated.

The company went into administration on 18 November.
