Thailand: Retailers pledge to place pork prices on hold
The prices will be capped at 110-115 baht/kg (€2.32-€2.43) during the festive season, says Chutima Bunyapraphasara, director-general of the Internal Trade Department. Any further rise in pork prices would depend on the impact of the spread of H1N1 influenza and the cost of raw materials.

Thailand raises about 12 million pigs a year, of which 70% are raised on closed farms, which are closely monitored.
