UK meat pie sales are hot 28 Jan 2010
Meat pie sales at UK retailers have jumped by 16% over the last two years, according to AC Nielsen data.

Currently worth £229 million, total UK pie market sales are reported to be strong throughout the year, not just during the winter months as was traditionally the case.
Increased sales are attributed to a revived trend for pies in restaurants and pubs and better quality ingredients in pies sold by retailers.
Tesco representatives say their meat pie sales have grown by 36 per cent in the last two years.
The top five meat pie fillings sold at retailers are steak, followed by steak and kidney, then minced beef and onion, chicken and mushroom and chicken and gravy.
